This is more of an FYI than anything else.

The T15 being my most used tool, I had taken to the practice of keeping a 4.5 fl.oz. can of Goof-Off in the Systainer with it. With the can laying on its side on top of the spare battery. Sometime between Sunday and a couple of hours ago, some Goof-off leaked out onto the insert, the "ridge" separating the battery from the charger and a small area melted.

I don't know if the insert plastic could handle a quick wipe with the stuff if you were to use it to clean but here is your warning that it very well could! I am not at all surprised, really, that goof-off will melt the plastic. More surprised that it happened as I took up the practice quite some time ago. However, I don't think it was a full can when I started.

As an aside, it was a new (full) can, lying on it's side and I think that it just got some internal pressure built up due to crazy temperature fluctuations lately.

I'm pretty certain it can, Dean. I think it's not uncommon to fix ABS that way and I also think the systainers are ABS.

Yup the Systainers are ABS. The PVC ? ABS pipe cleaner for plumbing will take pretty much anything off a Systainer with a few wipes. Tends to shine the plastic too.

Ok, Harry, I'll bite. What are you doing with all this Goof Off? I used to have a liquid habit but since switching over to their wipes and Magic Eraser, I am over it. Hang in there man.

All this goof-off? That's the smallest can they sell! However sometimes gunk gets on finished goods or adhesive residues need to be removed. As a last resort, I will squirt a little on the front of my shirt to make certain customers slightly more bearable.  [laughing]

Seriously, it is my hope to do nothing with it. It ended up in 'the most used systainer' because the can fit there nicely. That's how I roll. I also keep few holes saws with my jig saw for the same reason.

Ha! A little bit goes a very long way.
