This is a jewlery box I made for the LOML before Festool was in the states.  I used my Dewalt scroll saw and my Delta table saw.

I don't know what the white spots are.  They could be dust on my sensor that needs to be cleaned.

Very nice work indeed. How long did the scroll work take?
The white spots you mentioned are probably just reflections of the light source nothing wrong with your sensor IMO

Thanks guys this is one of my pride and joys.  I actually made two more for a friend of mine for his wife and daughter.

Rob, i will try to post more pics.

John, I spent about 12-16 hours on the scroll work.

Don T, absolutely stunning work.  :o I love woodworking but I just do not have the patience for scroll work even though I admire it greatly. Your wife, etc. must have been some very happy campers. ;) :D Fred

Johne, I make a copy and use a 3M spray adhesive to attach it to the wood.  The adhesive is not real strong but good enough to hold the paper while cutting.  Then when your finished cutting just sand and the paper and glue come right off and you clean up the rough edges at the same time.

Fred, I have not been doing much scroll sawing lately just for that reason.  it seems the older I get the less patience I have.  The other problem is the old eyes are not what they were, I need twice the amount of light and still don't see as well as I did just few years ago.  BTW my wife was very surprised, she also got a pair of diamond ear rings to go inside that box.  Actually I bought the ear rings and then decided to make the box.  It is the only time I surprised her in our 26 years together.  I could only work on the box when she was at work and then I had to hide all the parts so she could not see them when she came home.

John  I hear that!

I have many different magnified and prescription glasses in the shop now so I can see at any length I work at and extra lighting all over the place.

Nice Box and nice thought for your wife!

Sheesh! Talk about setting a high bar, compared to Don and johne, I'm feeling inadequate :-[  :)

Pretty amazing by itself.  My wife is in a virtually constant state of shock, much less surprise, at me.
;D ::)

Michael, I know what you mean. :D

Don T, Including the diamond earrings is just killer.  :o ;) The whole lack of seeing aspect happened for me about seven years ago at 45. Now I have prescription glasses and still have to have like a seven gigawatt light to see anything. ;) :D 8) Fred
