Jigsaw blades

Is the new Carvex going to have different blades?
Is there a catalog in print that I can get?

As Jonny said the Cavex will take the standard T shank jig saw blades as Festool current offerings.  I believe the new catalog will be coming this spring or sooner.

I'm not sure but I think some festool blades are actually Bosch blades. A lot of festool accessories are not actually made by festal but they still charge you double the price just to stick festool name on it

Festool does make it's own accessories. Bosch does not make our blades. And our blades are competitively priced.

Festool and Bosch blades can be used interchangeably in our jigsaws.

Not all accessories or tools are made festool well a dealer told same people who make Bosch blades make festool blades. Don't blame me! [tongue] Wa about these accesories then

What these as you can get exactly the same but with out festool name on it and half the price.

Or tell me how festool can justify their super high price?  Dont seem competitively priced to me

JMB,
If you look the the 4 products that you compared, they are not identical products. Look at the tech specs, they are even different sizes. If your point is to say that you can buy simialr looking products for less money I will agree,  but you are stating that you can get the same product with out the FESTOOL name for cheaper. I disagree.

I could go to a nice mens store and spend $200 on a pair of jeans or I could go to Walmart and spend $25. Do they look similar? yes. Do they function similar? yes. Are the of the same quality? NO.

We all chose to spend our money on different items.

So when is this carvex going to be available and how is it going to be different from the PS300?

Quality is the Just as good to me as I own the turbo brush I got from that site. The only differences with the accessories are the diameter of the Pipe. They are 32 38 as they are more commen with standard hoovers but festool have different sizes depending on hose selection but to charge £102 pounds just for 1mm 2mm difference so that's £31per mm of plastic.

If your on about the width of the floor nozzle festool also do 270mm, 300mm, 370mm and Finally which is the same size as the non festool brand but with a 50mm pipe 450mm instead of the one i linked which is 38mm 450mm which I am assuming your on about the width of the floor nozzle and diameter of the pipe. Well here you go found one which is Identical size width and diameter.

The price of the 50mm 450 is even more

And that is the same spec as you say
http://www.floor321.co.uk/Products/Spares/Floor321/TLS106.aspx

Festool
http://www.festool.co.uk/products/accessories/pages/detail.aspx?pid=452910&name=floor-nozzles-d-50-bd-450

Before you mention the others which are different diameter wont fit festool well festool hose are rubber ends so easily stretch to fit and the solid festool tubes you can use an adapter which only cost 2 or 3 pounds peanuts!

As of quality I believe they are made by the same company but they make them for festool also to festool specs and also make and sell standard specs for non festool people. So asmof quality they are the same? Well the one I own feels looks just the same.

Jmb

Im sorry this is going of topic but!  I have to show I am right! lol sorry!

Well I never thought but when I read the specs I noticed the name Wessel werk

http://www.floor321.co.uk/Products/Spares/Floor321/TLS106.aspx
TLS106 50MM WESSEL WERK GRD 450 TOOL

Well I thought I have seen that name some where!  Well I had a look at my FESTOOL floor nozzel! Well Well what did I find!  Wessel-werk printed underneath!

So to answer to your question Pdevore  are they the same quality? YES

Jmb, I have no problems be wrong with you (now just so you know I am never wrong when it involves my wife). Which floor brush do you have? mine is not printed on the bottom. I just purchased mine about a month ago..

I meant no disrespect.

Thanks

June, one that is different is Festool will offer cordless models (and a host of other improvements).  There is lots of discussion on here about the Carvex, look around the forum and you'll find more tons of thread.

Just to go back a bit here; both the Bosch blades and the Festool blades are excellent quality and most are very similar in appearance and design. However, the Festool blades are made in Germany and IIRC, most  if not all, Bosch blades are made in Switzerland.

How could Shane possibly answer this question to your satisfaction?  Festool USA has done a fabulous job with this forum, please cut these guys some slack with these kinds of questions/remarks.

Well Shane does work for Festool.I thought thats why this forum exists for information on festools or am i wrong?I am not critising Shane.I have noticed he has contributed greatly and helped a lot of people on this group. It seems to me when someone asks a question regarding some issues people take offence."How dare you question Festool!"And Brice its up to Shane to respond on the issue, not you

Jimmy, to be fair to both Shane and Brice, it's a question you can't really expect Shane to answer.

I'm not sure of Shane's exact job title, and I don't want to risk offending him by saying this, but basically he sorts out the websites for Festool USA (including this one). It's unreallistic to expect him to know about the pricing policies of Festool Germany or Festool UK.

I doubt that you'd get an answer to this out of Festool UK either. They are told what to charge by Festool Germany, and have very little (if any) control over that, however if you genuinely want an answer you should ask it of Festool UK, not Shane.

It's an open market, meaning Festool can charge what they want. As a customer, you are free to not pay the prices they are asking. Not only that, but this thread contains a link to somewhere you can purchase the same item (albeit without the Festool logo) for considerably less. If you don't like the Festool price, buy it from that other company.

Yip! Very true!  Thats what I did!

floor321.co.uk is brilliant next day delivery really fast.  I got my turbo brush hoping it would fit it didn't  fit the FESTOOL Professional cleaning set tubbing unfortunally metal does not give a mm lol.  He just sent me an adapter for free when I called him up about it even though its not his fault as it does say on the site what size the turbo brush is. The thing is if you dont have the festool kit tubing kit and buy the tubbing and everything from that site everything will fit on the festool hoses no problem. Im thinking of selling all festool vac accessories and so buy everything the same size for ALOT less and so dont need this one adapter.  You best buying the Festool CT's then buying all the floor nozzels (accesories) and tubbing from floor321.co.uk or other similar sites for a lot less im talkin £100s of pounds savings and have no problem with different accessories fitting each other.

I manage all of our online marketing activities and IT infrastructure. For those who have known me for a while, I was also once employed by an online Festool dealer for a number of years before coming to Festool. I've been involved in various capacities with Festool for about 7 years now.

I am no expert on business practices for Festool outside of the US and Canadian markets.  Even if I did, I've said before that one topic that we (Festool) will not discuss on the forum is pricing strategy. You guys are welcome to debate it as much as you like.

Not sure I understand your question. Are you asking what makes Festool's CT Dust Extractors superior to others?

I can tell you the advantages, others on the forum can share their opinions and experiences, etc. In the end, it's up to each consumer to decide which product is right for them, including the price point.
