I recognize the "calling cards, British style." I never had an English auto, but did have a couple of Triumph Bikes (a tiger 110 and a TR6) I had to carry a small tool kit with every where i rode. they were smooth running and fast, but there seemed to be never ending sources for oil leaks. and every nut and bolt head needed a special sized tool. There were those screw on valve covers that had to be tightened nearly every time i stopped for "petrol". make them too tight and one could crack the casting. Eventually, I got tired of constant repairing and tightening nearly every day (constant checking is a necessity, but fixing!!!?) and traded the TR6 in on a German single cylinder, 2 cycle Zundapp that i could go off road and thru woods with. That bike was light enough, if i could not ride thru or over something, i could just carry it. that bike was a lot more fun until I ran into a situation where i had to unload it. I had met this fine young frauline. We ended up getting married, you see. I had to make a choice. Either the bike or domestic tranquility. Ah, me, i suppose if i had it to do over again, i might ....... Ah!.......I better not go there..... [scratch chin] [sad] [crying] Nah, I guess i did alright on that score. [cool]
