What size holes are in the Kapex base?  I viewed the manual and the supplemental manual and all I can find is that the saw is mounted with 1/4" - 20 or M6 bolts but no information on hole size.  I want to mount the saw to my miter strand that uses 5/16" captive nuts to mount the saw so I need this information before I buy a Kapex.

Thanks,

Jack

A 6mm bolt fits the hole with a little wiggle room, a 1/4-20 bolt fits with almost exactly with no play at all.

So between 6mm and 1/4 inch (6.35mm) or so.

Thanks, that tells me that the Kapex won't fit on my current stand unless I do some sort of modification.

Jack,

The Kapex mounting holes itself will fit the Bosch bolts, however, inside the hole is a lip (either it threaded near the bottom or it was for centering alignment) that needs to be drilled out. It's a minimum modification as long as you've got the right sized bit. It does not compromise the integrity of the base at all, and I honestly can't say it should affect using a UG mount in the future.  If you're really concerned, go to a dealer with one of the bolts and see for yourself. Hope this clarifies it.

Thanks Taz,

I think that helps.  Unfortunately the local Woodcraft shut down and the nearest dealer is over an hour away but, I might take a trip next week.
