I've been trying to track down the router base attachment for the OF1400 for use on the  32, not having any luck. Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

there are two ways to go with this.. one, which is the basic stuff you need without cutters/and drill bits/systainer or you can get the full kit in a systainer

there is a large difference in price  [huh]

Excuse me for my thickness here, I was unaware that the same base plate fitted both the 1010 and the 1400, all is now becoming clear.

I'm going to be buy the individual bits, I have the bits, drills and clamps so really only need the base plate and guide rail.

You're better off with this set, it comes with the two guide stops which you'll need and is less expensive than buying the pieces separately.

Having an extra pair of guide stops is really convenient, you can set one pair for the 37mm front offset and the other for whatever offset you need for either mid holes or holes referenced off the back of the panel.

Thanks for that, I did have a look at that one and decided it was the one I'll need, the other set with all the bits and bobs in a systainer is £287.00 over here that's about $180 to you guys, so a tad more expensive.

there have been changes made to the longitudinal stops (not shown in photo) so make sure you are getting the latest version of the basic set.

its not that easy to get your head around (the system) as there is not much in the way of literature

Thanks for the advice, I'm in the Midlands next weekend so thought I'd take a trip to Nuneaton  and have a look at the kit.

I had given it a very long though before i invested in the LR32 system, if i should buy the systainer set or buy the essential parts separately..
My conclusion was that it was not worth it, buying everything separately costs more and buying only the "essentials" was not alot cheaper. There is nothing in my LR sys that i don't need, the extra clamps that came with the kit are probably the most used item because i use them all the time. So chances are that you will eventually buy everything the set contains separately. Even if you already have the bits now, those are consumables and you will need to replace them eventually. Just give it a good thought.

You know what its like Timtool, when you see the systainer you can be swung in that direction, I'll have to see when I get in the shop.

So did you buy the set? Have you used it? Any comments?

No I didn't buy the set in the systainer, I just got the bits I needed and ordered a systainer 1 that was on offer to put them in.

I have used the LR32 and have to say that I'm really impressed with the accuracy, although that's really to be expected from Festool. Before I have the Lee Valley Cabinet Makers System, this was OK but fiddly to set up.

Am I pleased with the LR32 system, absolutely.

Hey Waka,

Have the set and really got to use it fully the other week, Awesome. The only thing I had to adjust for when doing doors was 1: I leave an 1/8 gap at the top of the full overlay doors from the cabinet edge, so i had to compensate for that with an extra 1/8 spacer when setting up rail. And 2: the 35mm bit for the doors does not fit through the router dust collection cover. Easy fix, put it through first and keep bit inside. Just remember when raising router dont raise it too high.
Also run router at lowest speed.
thx
Lambeater.
