Makita sys trolley

Just had an email from D&m tools showing new items from makita. One being a trolley that seems to fold and should also be compatible with systainers.

The makita trolley uses what kind of wheels? They seem small and hard.

The Tanos trolley is rugged, and compatible.  It folds, and runs on large diameter rubber wheels (almost tires).

I have used it on fridges, stoves, insulation blowers, moving boxes, and of course systainers.

Those wheels are horrible. I had a cart with such wheels, you feel every bump and they make a lot of noise. Now I have one with real rubber wheels and filled with a bit of air, a lot better.

They look like a solid plastic wheel with a very thin rubber tyre/tread bonded to it. So they won't be especially refined when wheeling, but I don't see it as a big deal as most people will only be using it for relatively short distances at the beginning and end of each day.

All that said, it's £99 as opposed to £89 to the Festool Sys-roll, so I don't see what you're saving buying the Makita trolley as opposed to the Festool if you are intending on using it to transport Systainers.

Yeah but a lot of people myself included would need a fold up trolley. Forget the drawer I dont need that. I looked at the Festool one years ago when it came out here and just didn't like it. It's rattly and no good over rough ground.

Fair enough, though to be fair if you don't want some sort of tool brand on it, you can get better folding trolleys for less.

Went to D&M tools this morning to take a look at the makita trolley. It's very well built and fits Festool systainers perfectly. The wheels have rubber tyres and it rolls very nicely.

To fold up you press a black button and the handle slides down. Then the heavy duty looking base part folds up. It's quite compact but the wheels don't fold in like my wolfcraft one. Probably makes it more rugged.

All in all it feels a lot more solid than the Festool version and I'd guess it would roll over rough ground much better.

I didn't buy one yet as I'm not totally 100% on it just yet.

Good to see Makita have picked up on the open toolboxes. They look nice with the black handles. I might pick up a few down the line. Makes it easier to keep track on what is what if the miscellaneous items are in completely differently colored boxes.

Yes, I've searched - D&M doesn't seem to, neither does a Netherlands based vendor I found with it (for twice the price).

Surely you guys will get them. You had all the li-ion makita kit way before we had it.

Do you even have makpac systainer style cases over there ?
