MEGA Deal from Festool UK on PDC 18 'Set' Version

Can you guys post some pictures? I'm sure a lot of us would like some more eye candy on here. Especially those of us thinking about ordering own PDC.

Mac I had the same problem with the hinge pin hanging out when I unpacked mine. Just pushed it back in and everything else was fine.

Me too. Left hand side. How weird...

This is bordering on the paranormal , as well as damage to the bottom left corner of my tloc the left hand hinge pin also fell out when I took it out of the box.
Dave
Yep left side here too spooky lol

Quadrupaly (I think) spooky, left side hinge pin on mine too.  It must be because the battery is located in the back left corner so perhaps making the systainer slightly left side bias?

I feel sorry for Festool - I'm wondering if they'd rather deal direct with dealers shipping entire pallets at a time because it must be quite an administrative challenge dealing with relatively "small fry" orders and then having to sort out any issues.  Most of which are probably not their fault - I often wonder (I do this a lot) if courier companies ever have to pay out for things like this?  Big companies just seem to take the hit.

I also wonder if anybody has used their drill yet and are enjoying using it?  I will be using mine later this week and over the weekend.  Simple pleasures........

Your wife thinks your nuts, your dog could care less and us in The USA are jealous!

Haven't got many Centrotec bits at the moment. I think I will order the set of 10 drill bits.
I have the drill/ countersink which I use a lot.

Not sure if I'll stretch to the installers set this side of Christmas.

Well it looks like I'm going to be getting one as I must of bought 1 in the sale.
I thought about it but then decided I'd be better off buying a new sds drill, BUT I must of hit buy by mistake

Going to have to contact TTS tomorrow to check [embarassed]

Mine has not turned up yet.  Paid for it on Friday and it was not showing as shipped; however, they told me it has been shipped direct from Germany and will be here by the end of the week...

Looking forward to trying it this weekend.

Ian

Mine turned up today, drill is fine but systainer cracked/broken on both back corners, I'm sure festool will sort it so not worried.

Thanks guys for pointing out the deal on ebay.

Doug

Got mine today but can't open systainer as lid is wrong side of plastic on lower half and if I force it lid will come off, definately been dropped. Should I try and open it to check drill is ok or contact festool first as I don't know if they would send me a whole unit or just the systainer

Wrong side of plastic ? Can you post a quick photo maybe we can help. Don't sound good but they will swap it I'm sure.

Yes this is quite common the systainer is racked the lid is jamed on the inside od the base..

I haven't got it to hand at the moment to take pic but imagine having lid open and pushing systainer out at back and closing lid so lower part of systainer below hinge is on outside of lid if that makes sense

+1 you should be able to push the back in carefully and get them the right way round then it will open fine

No Mega deal but happy nonetheless....

Even survived international shipping....

But it's cut into the plastic on the lower part, I did think about just trimming it with a Stanley knife, I know I'll probably end up with a small gap there but it's just the principle of it, I know we got a good deal but I like to keep my tools and cases in good order, I recently cut my dewalt 1st fix gun box with my circular and nearly cried, if it had of been a systainer I would have been suicidal

Turned the dewalt box into a portable workbench eh, well that concept was originally from black and decker with th workmate and as it's said Dewalt has become them now or at least closely related,,,, but I know what you mean, have done similar before and it's a pet fear/check of mine now whenever cutting anything on the fly lol

Mine turned up today.  It was certainly a good deal, but cosmetically it definitely is not perfect.  I have contacted them to say that.  It is unclear if it is shipping damage or was like that before it left Germany.
