Here's a recent project that I built and installed. I did not do the painting...this is an area that I'm considering tackling, but I do all of my custom work out of my 2 car garage and do not have a spray booth.

I used a number of my Festools on this project (TS-55, LR-32, Domino, OF-1400, RO-90...and all the other usual suspects)

Let me know your thoughts!

Bob

Thanks for the kind words!  The client was an interesting challenge...to say the least.  He has a hard time visualizing anything on paper/cad and doesn't always know what he wants until he rules out what he doesn't want. I altered the mantle twice to finally get it to where I said it should've been from the get go. At the end of the day, he's super psyched & wants me to continue through the house over time!  Now I know that I have to account for some hand holding!!!

Hey. Looks great ! Love the handles on the doors. And bead board !!

You could get some 8/4 oak stain to match floor and set on mantel also

But thanks for the homage!!  [thumbs up] [not worthy]

I have no clue why that photo shows so blurry...I'm going to try and repost one and see if that's better...the photo shows beautiful in my photo roll but when I upload thru Tapatalk, it's wicked blurry.

Very nice work Bob.  The whole unit really compliments the stone fireplace nicely.

Did you make doors yourself?  If so, what router/table/bit setup are you using - sommerfeld?

Thanks

@lumbajac...I did make the doors!  I have two router tables...one that I set up recently using an MFT 800 and a woodpeckers phenolic top & fence with a Bosch 2 1/4 hp router mounted in a Jess-Em router lift.

My primary router table is a woodpecker top with an Incra fence and a Triton 3 hp router.

I have the sommerfeld bits, but I've had some tear out issues...even in poplar.  Not sure if I'm just not dialing in the right speeds or what, but I am ready to try the Freud rail/stile bits!

What do you guys use?

Bob

Bob,

I saw tearout issues in Marc Sommerfeld's own videos, if you look closely.  Mainly, it's the bits.

Bob
I just ordered a sommerfeld bit set. I to was getting some tear out in the poplar I was using making my raised panels. I know ken has the freud bit so I might try them out and do a comparison.

The built in looks great.

Dave

Yes Bob, forgot to say the work is superb!  Maybe when Kreg heads up this way, he can sign off on it?  [big grin]

i looked at the link but did not see style and rail bit sets did i miss something
