New Kapex Setup Advice

Hello FOGgers, I have a new Kapex on the way to me.  Can anyone point me to setup tutorials/videos?
I'd like to make sure everything is square and true before cutting miters in cabinet door rails and stiles.

Congratulations on your Kapex!  Most Kapex's survive the shipping process without the need to adjust, but in any case you will want to have a copy of the supplemental manual at your disposal.  Some of the dealers print them out and include them with your saw.  If not, here is a link to the electronic version:  http://www.festoolusa.com/media/pdf/Kapex-KS120-Supplemental-Manual.pdf

The supplementary manual is a great help and I think from memory tells you how to test square, 4 or 5 cut method. As well as that has very good photos pointing out all the knobs and info you'll need to follow. One of the best manuals I've ever come across quite frankly.

The manual is great.  Very clear and easy to understand, even has color photos.
I ignored the warning that the Kapex is factory calibrated and should not be recalibrated unless knocked out of alignment, dropped, etc.  Did some test cuts at 45 degrees and it was off by about 1/2 degree or a bit less, but enough so that miter joints were off.
Followed the calibration instructions and got perfect 45 degree miters.  [big grin]

The Kapex is a joy to use, at least compared to what I had before (Makita LS 1016), which was good for chop cuts but nowhere near as accurate and micro adjustable as the Kapex.

Thanks for sharing the link.  I just got a Kapex today and set it up.  I decided to search for some suggestions here on FOG  and found the link to this manual.  I am sure I will be looking for other suggestions here on FOG.  I will definitely print out that manual and read through it.  So far I am loving the Kapex!

Thanks again Peter.  No questions yet.  I am a hobbyist and looking for some suggestions to get the most out of the Kapex.  Basically I am spending some time on FOG looking for the "trade secrets" or "tricks" that I would never even think to even ask about.  I know the Kapex has capabilities beyond my old Dewalt I want to learn as much about it as I can.

45's were way off on mine.  Tried adjusting, neither manual gives you direction on properly adjusting 45's.  the miter plate moves in and out as well as side to side.  It was a big PITA, so I sent it back for them to calibrate.  For $1400, it should be correct out of the box.  I'm a carpenter, Festool is a tool company.  They can adjust the saw.
