It could be technically based on the domino, it also oscillates.
I recall someone from Festool (Shane?) saying that festool would only bring out an already existing tool if they could significantly improve it, seems to be true with the conturo.
So i am impatient on seeing what they did with the vecturo.
I do know it will be called vecturo OS 400 EQ-set and EQ plus

Interesting that the new 2014 catalogue doesn't have any of the new tools in it apart from the bhc sds which is due for release in spring.  None of the rebadged protools  are in and the only drill stated to be no longer available in the UK is the 12v 't' shaped drill. Oh and it's got prices in.

true, but it's a special case. Festool has never really played the numbers game and that's one tool where numbers are all that matter.

Precisely why I'm interested.  What did they come up with that justified the development of a multi tool.  Should be exciting!
 
I heard fein had a lot to do with the development. Fein also have an exiting annocement coming up, possible connection?

Well saying that!  

Was talking to Fein guy   I was saying about how Fein seem to be copying other brands  (Feins impact drill is Milwaukee's old impact drill casing) (New Fein drill is similar design to Festool Drill Qaudrive with centrotec and location of LED etc)

This is part of a reply I received

There is absolutely ZERO similarities between the festool/protool and our own FEIN ASCM 18 QX. The whole thing is assembled at our plant in Bargau. Our EC motor not only revs faster than the festool Quaddrive, but the rotor is 4mm larger in diameter giving more power under load. It also has a number of advantages above that but we'd need an essay to explain them.The only element we might look into is adjusting the interchangeable heads so that they'll accept other brands.

Sounds like Fein are saying their drill is better than Festool! Doesnt sound like would become good partnerships lol

Narex make a decent set of chisels at a decent price. Some might argue best bang for buck!

I'm curious to see what updates are made to the MFK. I was thinking about getting one and now I think I'll wait and see what changes are made.

I don't think they've made any changes to the router itself, but simply introduced a version of it with a new braked bearing assembly that's designed to trim edging applied with the new edge bander.

Sysclean - not sure on this one. Googling it only comes up with trademark info & this thread!
Conturo - edgebander.
Renofix - the ex-Protool concrete grinders.
Duradrive - some of the ex-Protool drills.
Univers - the ex-Protool sword saw (rail-guided electric chainsaw).

Are they just renaming the systainers with vacuum accessories in them, or creating something new? Or maybe just inventing a name for the group of everything that has to do with DC.
