hello,

I was at a demo a couple of days ago and the the gentleman that was using the rotex used a pad on it that was like 3m scotch brite pads. I think that is what they are called,  I have heard them called a million things.  Anyway the one he was using was grey and rather thin.  this was for the ro 150.  Does anyone know what they are called or even a part number in the catalog.  I can not seem to find them in the catalog.

thanks for the help,
JJ

They are called Platin and are available in a number of grits.

I think the grits are 500, 1000, 2000, 4000.

I beg to differ, I think he was looking at vlies pads.  Platin is gray but looks more like sandpaper stuck to a thin sponge.  If it's scotch-brite looking in appearance it's vlies.

Sorry. My bad. You, of course, are right.

This seems like Vlies but the Vlies I've used was not "rather thin" --- considerably thick actually (unless used and worn away) --- but it must be Vlies.

A picture is worth a thousand words. In the pic, 5" Viles is on the left and  6" Platin on the right, both sides of the sanding disks are shown.

thanks it was the vlies.  I ordered some today .  I really appreciate the fast facts.
