The leftover 'systainer port'

Needing more Festool systainer storage, I built this out of leftover materials from other projects.  I also used salvaged baltic birch for the drawers and casters from an old router table.  The side and top materials are 3/4" two sided melamine and the back is 1/4 melamine (both mdf core).  I used dowel screws from McFeely's to assemble the case.  Alignment was used with a domino at each corner that really made drilling the dowel holes and assembly easy.  System holes were drilled with the LR-32 system and an OF1400 router.  I did the entire length for adjustability should future needs dictate.  It is nearly dimensionally identical to the Festool systainer port (only difference is 10mm narrower).  The only thing I didn't have on hand were the carriage bolts for the casters which cost me $2.43 including tax.

Steve      real nice sysport setup. I like the adjustability with the shelves, great job

Very cool that is the same height as the Festool Sysport.  [smile]

I need to build some sustainer ports and really like your adjustable shelves. What kind of drawer slides did you use that use the 32mm system?

Tom

Tom,
I used Custom Service Hardware 350mm full extension slides.  They do have holes for the 32mm system.

Steve,
I don't suppose you would have a part number for the slides?  I looked at their website and they have several 350mm full extension slides, but none list that they are made to work with the 32mm system.

Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
The P/N is
Item: 39.1150.14
Description: Slide, 350mm [13.78"] Full Extension Bright Zinc,15 sets/case

The description doesn't say 32mm compatable but they are.

Steve,

I went to the site and used the above number. I couldn't find it. Can you post a link to the product.

Cheers
Steve

Trying to challenge my computer skills again?  [laughing] I have not been able to get the link to work.

Use the cshardware.com search for 39.1150.14.  Be sure to click the button for search by Item Number and not the description.  The item should pop right up.

Steve,

Don't feel bad - that link wouldn't work for anyone.

If you go to that website, the search function is found by clicking on the shopping button.  Here is a link :
CSHardware

I found it today.  You can't us the "." after the last number or it can't find it.

Cheers,
Steve

I added the '.' to end the sentence.  Oh well, glad you found it.

I enjoy using cshardware, their customer service is excellent.  The website however, can be nightmare to find things sometimes, so don't feel bad.

Plus one on that Jon.  They've added Blum products in the last year and I've found they're prices to be very reasonable.

Steve,

I was about to order some screws for the drawer slides but wasn't confident on what to order.

I was going to buy the metric screws designed to fit into the 5mm holes of the 32mm system when I noticed that the holes in the slide for the drawers were smaller than 5mm.  So did you use the #8 drawer slide screws for everything or use them just for the drawers and the metric screws for the sides?

I know it has been several months since you started this topic but I'm a little slow  [tongue].  I have the slides and am finishing the 30 drawers to hold the systainers.  I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to build these, I have a small shop so I have to finish the drawers in batches.

Thanks for your help,
Tom
