Thanks for putting this up, I never really thought this could happen. I have to live my life around my stupid scaffolding because of their ridiculous size and was thinking about leaving mine in the garden before this.

I have the same brand as you, did Towers and Sanders ever get back to you? I have been to their offices a few times and they had a pretty busy workshop doing repairs and maintenance on scaffolding so always thought they had a pretty service. I thought they came with a guarantee too so have to double check that.

No they never got back to me again. 

I called them up, they asked for pictures so I linked them to FOG via email. 

They replied:

Good Morning

Thank you for the photos

The replacement frame costs - £89 + VAT

That's its...  So I replied asking if that was same price for both frames as one is smaller. They did not reply.

I'm sorry to see that, but look at the bright side at least it was obvious enough that you were able to see it instead of itweaking the joint while YOU were UP high and discovering it from the weight of gravity causing a mechanical failure. Just a thought, maybe wrap them with some of those form insulation tubes and under a tarp in the future, might that make a difference?

Tarp would help yeah but they can be kept out side it's just the way I layed them which was on their sides which is how most people store them.  Water was able to go into the pipes but due to the complete weld on the other end was not able to get out so over time the pipes must off filled up completely with water.  Then with this harsh winter weather POP.

So like mentioned few times already just a little holes on the other end to allow water to escape and not build up is the solution which I believe should of been done by manufacture.

Your right if it had only caused hair line cracks that could of been dangerous as I would of most likely not of seen it untill it was to late.
