CXS has lost it's magnet

True Alex, if I had lost them I would not have been pleased, but I did not so was not too worried.

What makes you think that the Ken guy is being mean?  [smile]

The insincerity in my internet voice.  I said that in a high pitch, but I wasn't yelling.

--FOR ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS OF THE FESTOOL CXS DRILL --

Even with the posts about magnet issues, I still feel it's a great drill and to prove it, I put my money where my mouth is.  I finally received mine today (requested it several weeks ago) and prior to this, sold off my Milwaukee 12 volt drill and 12 volt driver.  Of course I'll be putting it through a real world test with brutally honest results, but I've been very happy using it during demos that I plan on making this my go-to drill/driver for most of my work.

By the way, this is the proper etiquette for holding a CXS and your head and nose should be in a snobbish elevated position during use.

I think you need to document all of the CXS moodicons ... how you hold you CXS when you're happy, sad, angry ...  [big grin]

Just be glad I'm not holding it with my foot.  [eek]

My CXS has had the magnet in the base of the 1/4 inch "chuck" come out and now it will not hold a bit in at all. I still have the magnet and I think I could get it back in the base of the shaft but I don't know how to make it stay. Has anyone else had this problem and were you able to fix it? I hate to send it in for repair but I need the magnet to work.

I had the same problem 2012 march the little magnet that holds bits in the shank dropped out of a brand new set .stuck it back in
with a bit of blu tack it worked for a while but now my bits are getting stuck in the shank with excess blu tack bah, also i notice the little green annular ring rubbery thing keeps slipping off , wish i had my original shank no problems at all with it.

My magnet fell out as well.  I couldn't get it seated properly, tried pushing down on it with a nail set and shattered it. Now I just use it without. Pretty much agree with Brice.
