Any cheap 18 v impact driver can screw a 250 lag bolt into oak now screwing it in straight now thats a different story

If a Timberlock screw is considered a "lag bolt", then you are incorrect.

So this is nothing exciting then?

Much as you know I hate Mafell* & Metabo** and all they stand for, I do have to pick you up on the fact that it's softwood, not green oak. So there!

*apart from the P1CC & MT55 that I own
** apart from the variable speed angle grinder, die grinder, 10.8v reciprocating saw and 10.8v screwdriver (which is probably exactly the one in the video but didn't try on the oak) that I have.

I've always had a thing against Dewalt of recent years and I must confess it mostly has to do with them being bright yellow. To me they look like they belong in the hands of the Village People, not bonfide workmen [eek]

Wish they hadn't brought out an interesting cordless framing nailer ... I may have to get myself a skimpy leather vest  [embarassed]

Wow! Why so many Dewalt hates?

And why almost every construction site "shines in yellow".

Can you answer me?

May be because it works and works very well?

Milwaukee is made in China by who knows who.

So?

You have a problem with China product?

May be its a surprise for you,but some Festool parts inside have a sign: MADE IN CHINA!

Surprise?

I have nothing against their tools, they are king of the mudslinging BS marketing though.

And also, as we previously discussed, making up your own standard of measurement is dumb. Just tell us how much torque your drill produces, don't try to hide it behind some fantasy spec to boost your numbers.

Festool makes tools for furniture not for construction.

Are you serious?  There hasn't been one thing that my T18 can't do outside of "furniture"

One thing your T18 can't do compare Dewalt,Bosch and etc. - Belt Hook ! :))))))

Try it on a high ladder or very expensive floor (inside) :)))))

Festool Belt Hook - C R A P !!!

Drills -  Great!

Agree - the "up a ladder use case" seems to have fallen off the Festool radar.

4m to grass doesn't seem to hurt them, but its very annoying none the less [mad]

I don't think the 10.8v Mafell (rebadged Metabo) is available in the US unfortunately.
...

It has a slightly different technical specification and it seems as if this is also a rebadged Bosch GSR 10.8 (with slightly different specifications).

May, they are all the same. So either i go with the cheapest of those three or i take the Festool CSX since it is not so much expensive.

[member=54664]Coliban[/member] In Germany the A10M was ~19 Euro less than the CSX.

There may still be reasons why you may want the CSX over the A10M, but price may not be the compelling reason(?).

Hmm, are they really related to the Bosch?

The Mafell/Metabo are definitely clones, but have replaceable chucks, which the Bosch doesn't.

I have the GSR 10.8v EC HX at home, I'll take a closer look tonight.

Belt hook?  Who cares.  Once I climb up the ladder, I put on my white gloves and then I have my assistant hold up the systainer then open the lid for me to take the drill out.  Once I'm done, I hand it back to them where they clean it with Egyptian cotton towels and place it back into the systainer.  Come on, don't you do that too?  [big grin]

Kidding aside, you're probably right (I say probably because I haven't tested it myself).  The belt hook on my Makita is more sturdy than the Festool one.

The main reason is the system. I have the Mafell P1cc, I like it, but I do not like the systainers from them. Therefore I'd prefer festool because of the accessories and the system. (But if I should buy a new saw, maybe I would take as well the Mafell).

[member=38144]sae[/member], I don't know, if they all are related, i only recognized that they all have nearly the same specification.

Since I got extra assistants I got rid of the ladder and just get them to lift me to the right hight. Much easier [wink]

;D Yeah,very funny!

I wish Festool make belt hook similar to the Dewalt/Bosch....

Oh... The magic of "The System" again.  [eek]

I believe FT and Mafell boxes are from Tanos, Now the T-Lock and the classic respectively.

To me it is like picking a woman because of the color of her dress or her shoe colour.

Similarly one could put the drill into any box. I do not use the systainer for drilling, sawing, etc...
However everyone has a multitude of "requirements" with some not related to the tool's function.
I follow the Bauhaus school.
