Good on ya for wanting to build your own kitchen. I will need to change mine in the next couple of years & that is what i will do.
Do you have a link to that tv ? & how much did it cost you. I may be tempted.
I cnt remember the site but I have the receipt at my house so when I work on my house again ill check the website on it ill let you know. I got it months ago though! As you know I only work on it when I can so some of the stuff I bought have been der for ages waiting for me lol!
Well I can remember it costing in the region of £500 its only a 15'' though I think ill let you know for sure what the price and size it is. I fitted my mums aswell hers was £2000 back in the day hers is 23 inch i think. I found my mums far easier to fit and it came with a surround so you dont have to be bang on with your tiles as you stick the mirror affect frame around the mounting bracket was easy to fit and the TV popped into it very nicely also hers had separate speakers you put in your wall or ceiling
My TV though has built in speakers and the mounting bracket is RUBBISH very awkward to fit but also to allow the TV to sit flush was a pain with my bracket but also instead of having imports on the back like normal TV'S (my mums is like normal TV's) it has a load of leads bundled together with import ends. HDMI VGA Arial power intput few others just like normal but this causes a problem as its very tight on the bracket and makes it difficult to pop the TV onto the bracket because you need to get the TV right back and then drop it down well if your TV is set in flush with your tiles you can not get it back because your tiles are in the way.
So 3 solutions!
1. cut the tile higher so the TV can go back and then down but then it would leave you with a 10 mm or more gap above the tv and the rest sides and bottom would only be 2mm.
2. Dont fit the tiles above untill TV is fitted! Down side you wont be able to get the TV out in the future for repairs or if you wanted to connect a HDMI cable or something
3. Fit the TV face mounted so infront of the tiles which is how I think your suppose to fit this TV but I think it looks rubbish!
4. JMB's solution! Throw the bracket out of the window into the skip! Then just create a rebate behind the tiles and just silicon the TV in!
The benefit of my TV over my mums is my TV is completely sealed reason why it has leads coming out so no water can get in front or back of the TV so you can just stick silicon on the TV and push it in job done it will never fall out my TV stayed in just on its own any way ! My mums is very much like a normal TV behind with imports! Thus water can damage the TV if it got behind but thats why it came with a mirror frame surround around siliconed on because the TV is water proof on the front. This would help you Alan a TV with a frame surround because your fitting the TV after you tiled assuming your bathroom where your TV is going to go is tiled the surround will cover your tile cut out! no?
I dont kno how much your willing to spend but I find on average the decent bathroom MIRROR TV is £600 a non mirror is less.
