fidelfs said:... If I have the doweller DD40 I can have the same functionality as the Domino plus the LR32 and I am saving money. You can buy 5 mm cutters and you will cut 2 holes at once, the same guide for the DD40 works as guide for the shelves 32mm system. So, my DF500 will be on sale soon, with the LR32 rails and attachments for the router.

Curiosity finally got the better of me on this... I just ordered one of these the other day [big grin].
woodie said:Their distribution works for me. My local Festool dealer rarely stocks consumables or accessories. One time I stopped in to buy an OF1400 and they didn't have a single accessory for it. I needed an edge guide and rail adapter for that project, so the router sat for 3 days while I waited for these from an online vendor. Do they stock blades for my TS75, nope, I've got to order these too. Sandpaper for any of my Festool sanders, nope, not a single speck of Granat to be seen. So I have to order all these items online. I use two online vendors for my Festool stuff, one's in Texas and the other is in New Jersey. It's 3 day's for standard shipping from either vendor. Timberwolf's standard shipping is 3 day too so it's a wash on my end. California is more of a stretch from Maine, 4-5 day shipping depending on where in Cali you are.

Can a dealer fix the TS55REQ? No they cannot. They depend of what Festool USA says. I don't see the difference.

This statement is not accurate. All tools are repaired in Canada at our Canadian repair center or in the US at our US repair center. Tools are not ever sent to Germany for repair. That would be crazy with 4-6 weeks each way.
A dealer could repair any of our tools if they had the technical know how but it may void the warranty. All of our spare parts are available for dealers or customers to order and almost all are stocked here, not ordered on demand from Germany.

4-6 weeks each way to Germany, you guys must be using a paddle boat [poke]
Everything I've ordered from Timberwolf that wasn't a stock item has been in from Germany in a week. Heck I've ordered camping gear from an outfit in Esslingen and received it in 3 days, shipping was $8 for that order by the way.

There's a huge difference, I've got probably two dozen Festool dealers in my UPS ground 1 or 2 day shipping zones. Add in the many online stores and that's an abundance of inventory nearby vs one place I can order Mafell tools and supplies from that is over 3,000 miles away. One bad nor'easter and no one in the US is getting anything Mafell for a few weeks.

If we changed the names and remember 10+ years back, Festool was in the same position. Festool was unknown to many. It was years before they were able to build what they are in USA. Give it time, it will happen, or I just hope.
