New TS55 KSEB which runs on one 18V battery:
New TBX 4 and TBX 8 batteries 18V
New DTSC 200 sander on 18V battery:

Really like that vacuum hose lock. I'm always struggling with the vacuum hose going to the wrong side I want it to be on.

How much power does this have compared to TSC55
  1. Likely using the revised brushless motor just like the new HKC
  2. 1.6mm blade now, thinner, so less power needed for cuts
  3. Tabless batteries finally being released. More power, more runtime, cooler battery

I really like the new TS55 KSEB!

I'm still going to wait in the hopes they release a cordless TS 60, but this new one looks like it's going to be on my wishlist.

Wow. That Delta standard looks huge -- in the video at least. Still love my set of small "Ergo" sanders where I get to use the mains adaptor with extractor in the shop, but can also work remote / climb a ladder with the battery engaged. I am concerned Festool will stop making the Ergo batteries for those of us who have invested in that platform. TSC55 KS looks great. Good to see the kick-back technology will likely move out across the different saws. It was one of the reasons I made the decision to go with the TS60. I was happy to stay corded in that purchase as for me its a dedicated tool for the shop. I'm already very happy with my M18 platform and Milwuakee tracksaw for working remote. More great tools in 2026 please Festool.... Maybe the mains powered table saw.... please...

I've been contemplating the DTSC 200 but at the moment leaning away from it. Partially because I was pretty gung-ho when they announced the ETSC2 but when I got to use it, it wasn't compelling enough (for me) to add to the arsenal. Part of that was the 3.5mm orbit, which seemed to just be a middle-ground compromise between the ETS and ETS EC, and part of it was also that I didn't have a real need for a cordless sander.

With the DTSC, I have similar apprehensions but now it's also the need to get another range of abrasives as this is obviously a new shape and size. I like the raking light and I like the idea of greater surface coverage (a la 150 vs 125) but I would be more enthusiastic if I didn't have to invest in a new range of abrasives. Makes me wonder why they didn't just incorporate this rotating triangle design into a new version of the current 100x150 Delta/9?

Perhaps, whenever the DTSC200 makes its way to the USA, Festool will consider offering it as a packaged discount with the abrasives systainer? Price is competitively with the tabless battery set, and I think that would make it a bit more appealing.

They did super-size the pad on the DTSC 200. Here's what the pad and abrasives look like...they're now 145 x 195 vs the original 100 x 150 for Delta 7 & Delta 9. This thing is like using a steam iron. 😵‍💫 😵‍💫

Indeed.

Is it just me, or does the DTSC200 look like a RS2/RS200 functional replacement to anyone else?

EDIT:
Thinking about it more, this seems like part of a dedicated "sanding system" geared to hobby users. As a hobby user, I can see being able to "get by" with just the RTSC 2 and the DTSC 200, no other sanders needed. The DTSC 200 taking care of all fine finish sanding.

As a pro, it gets more complicated and I would stick to the DTSC, RTSC, ETSC and ETS EC existing offerings and just get the RS 200 built from spare parts to go along .. or get the Makita variety of it.

I don't like how they're doubling down on the whole app thing. Other brands have actually moved away from that, and rightly so, nobody wants to mess around on an app when you're working. Make the interface on the machine itself rather, like Bosch is doing.

I can fix this for you, move to Australia or New Zealand - the app isnt available here at all, 😁

Id just like to see what my batteries are doing, times charged etc, maybe even adjust the light on the cxs. but nooooo,

Everything wants access to your location, it sh*ts me, my new headphones app for the initial setup ( using bluetooth) needed access to my location services to allow me to find them - wtf.

Here's the new LM-TS/TSC Light Module for the TSC 55 KS saw. This could be a handy little unit for a lot of applications.

Yes, wasn't sure if that light module was backwards compatible but the new video announcement confirms it. Definitely getting one of those for my existing saws.

EDIT: And the attached youtube-comment on the German version of the promo-video is also interesting - looks like there will be more product announcements this year :)

(Translation: "Are you allowed to hope for a light module for the OF1400 as well?" and "Yes you are. We'll give more information later")
