Thank you Festool - nice little gift in the mail (offer expired)

I returned mine. I appreciate the gesture but it's not needed. Thank you though.

If anyone else prefers not to have a hat, please give it to someone you know who would like to have it. Share the love.  [smile]

OK!OK! I will sit down and enter all the info. The free bees pushed me over the edge.

I though the dealers did this in the past? What changed?

Dealers are supposed to do it. Some do not. Amazon is an example. To ensure your tool are registered properly, we are going to begin asking customers to register them. There may be duplication. But, better to have two records of your purchase than none.

Done, boy that takes a while to get all the info corralled.

Some time some of the dealer info pops up. Most of the time it did not. Had to enter two item twice as they did not show up on the tool list with in my account. Must have screwed up something. So you might has some duplicate records out there.

Greg,

Sorry if you found it difficult. The only required item are when it was purchased, which tool, and your contact info. The serial number, for instance, is optional although nice to have.

If you want to shoot me an email with the names of your dealers that you had trouble with, I'll have a look to see if there's a problem.

PS - I don't see any duplicates.

Thanks for registering your tools.

Shane your entry system was great. The problem was on my side finding the purchase dates.

Got mine today.  Nice hat.  I like it and will wear it.  Thanks Shane and Festool!

I'm having trouble with step 2.  It won't let me click on the tool and hit next.

I registered my TS55, OF1400, Carvex420 and RO125 in hopes of getting the swag.  I did check on registration once before and my dealer did in fact register the products I purchased in my first drink of the green kool aid.  I thought that was a very nice touch.

Got mine yesterday as well.  The wife went through the roof asking, "What did you buy this time?"  "Nothing" I told her.  "They simply sent me a free hat"  In my head I wanted to say, "it comes with the CXS i'm buying next month"  (But that stayed in my head)

Thanks Festool!

Good move, man. Good move! (keeping THAT in your head)

Edit: One of the FOG members who has been known to help out a friend (No, I won't tell who it is! You'll have to make your own EU friends [smile]) with stuff that is NAINA said that there was an unintended consequence that he gets from helping people - it means that he always has Festool stuff shipping in, and shipping out. If his wife is not in a good mood the day a Festool item arrives, he tells her it's for someone he's helping to get something that is NAINA - even if it's not. If she's in a good mood that day, he tells her it's his - even if it's not. And anytime he ships something out, he makes sure she knows about it!

Without an inventory tracking system it's impossible for her to keep track, and he's pretty much free to buy anything that comes or fits in a systainer.

Pretty clever I'd say?

Come to think of it, that's another benefit of the Systainer system: with only 5 standard sizes, they kind of all meld together after you get enough of them. Without considerable knowledge of the Festool line (or good labelling) a 'novice' really doesn't know what's inside a specific Systainer. I suppose someone could always count the Systainers (or spaces in a rack) in an attempt to track them, but if your shop is even reasonably fluid or active that's not gonna get them close enough to figuring anything out. By the time your total quantity of Systainers grows enough for the increase to be noticeable, you can probably answer honestly that for any given Systainer they point to, you've 'had that one for a long time'.

Hmmm...Festool might have been a LOT smarter than I sometimes give them credit for!!!

[thumbs up]
