I would opt for a Domino and OF1010 and accessories. That would fit your budget and add versatility to your tools.

I've lost count of how many I have (or where they all are). But for a basic box, 8 is sufficient. I kind of laugh at those who diagonally clamp to correct out of square boxes. And the new (and expensive) corner clamps don't work as well. A pair from Woodpeckers is $40.00.
I own a set of the box clamps, but after the first try, it has sat in a tray for years. I found it finicky to adjust and set the clamps to thickness before they could be used. I'll Kijiji it, and hope the right buyer can be found.
As I said, with the use of dominoes, other than clamps, nothing else is need to square a casework. I think I also have a set of Bessey corner & T clamps to sell...dominoed miters don't need it anymore.

I did the opposite. I encouraged my kids to learn how to use their hands and make things from being small. Same with my wife. All of them developed an interest in it, and have consequently become confident with tools and how to use them. So when any small jobs need doing around the house, they do them, rather than hassling me - so it’s a win/win.

It's "My" space, but in reality its a "Workshop", and I welcome any of the fam in to build things. They have done this multiple times.
I just have to constantly scold the kids for not wearing shoes when them enter.
It was brought up once about being able to park cars in the garage; a car is probably the most weatherproof thing anyone owns, leave that crap outside. Also, you'll get a new one in a few years, my tools i'll have rest of my life.
My wife also grew up with a grandfather who had a workshop, and was very close with him. My first table saw was actually is 1946 Unisaw. So she has a different appreciation than most people might.
But yeah, maybe look at it as if I lose this space, she can say hello to bachelorettehood. haha

My shop is a two-car garage at night. My family members don't care what I do there and what I put there, other than sometimes complaining about fine dust on their shoes or on the windshields.
The only corner in the "shop" that my wife is concerned about is the freezer. As long as its top (which by the way is good as an assembly table) is not occupied when she needs to access the freezer, she doesn't mind about anything I do with or in the shop.
The only thing I worry about is strangers passing my house as my shop is full of machines and tools. I try to keep many of them stored under lock and key. My garage door is closed most of the time, unless it's summer, and I'm physically working there.

On the workshop: I am stuck with what I have. I built a mudroom so I didn't have to move, haha. The house we are in is a small ranch and it has limited storage space. It's also in a really good neighborhood and we've been in it for 10 years so I don't really like the idea of moving.
On the tool front: I have been well served by looking for tools that reduce the setup time and frustration involved with using them. That said, it will likely be an OF1010 and a domino. I think someone here already said that combination and I took that to heart. A big thank you for all the responses!
