Hi Everyone,

I have a CT26 and have a dedicated 36mm hose running to my Kapex and a separate 27mm hose for the other machines. I have recently installed a second socket on the CT26 (Supplied by Toolfest here in the UK - well done guys) and so I no longer need to swap power connectors. I would like to have both hoses attached all of the time so I do not need to swap these either.

Has anyone used a Y splitter on a CT26? If so, does it have enough power to do its job without blast gates? If blast gates are required, where in the UK can I get some that will fit and what else will I need?

I have considered making a special blast gate that would allow me to have the vacuum on just one hose at a time but getting plumbing supplies that fit the CT26 and hoses is tricky.

If you search for "blast gate" here, you will find several discussions.

I fail to see why you needed to install a second power outlet, as a simple splitter would have worked.  I assume that they have corresponding items in the UK:

I use a Y so that I can connect both size hoses to use at once when necessary (i.e. the Plexiglas template), but I generally only have one connected at a time as I think that the performance would drop too much if both were kept open.

Thanks Corwin - the search root was very helpful. I suspected that just a Y split would be asking too much - thanks Scot.

We have a Y connector hooked up to our CT36 for flooring jobs. I thought about doing a home made blast gate but found there was really no need for it. Suction is fine with the splitter running a small cop saw and the flooring saw. I also have the white 3 outlet thing Corwin posted plugged into the CT, works fine.

DC with sanding will be OK, but any routing or cutting will be effected.  The Kapex collection will also drop off considerably.  Blast gates are a requirement if using a 36mm hose.  I keep two sanders hooked up w/o blast gates with 27mm hoses and it works great.

I do not use mine.  When the 36mm hose is hooked up it is worthless.

I got the splitter to use with 36/27 hoses but without blast gates they will not work for my purposes.  [sad]
